The company said the updated approach better aligns with comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to check their listings and update the measurements by hand if necessary, which has left users frustrated. Sizing System Modifications Before the change, the measurements included numerical and alphabetical indicators, like S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter with a size spectrum such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the measurements have been reclassified - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but now shows as UK 16-18. Member Stories One content creator, who creates plus-size fashion videos, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Rarely do manufacturers list XL as sizes 20-22," which is what Vinted now does. Stephanie Gallen, based in Glasgow, explained products she uploaded featuring size 14 markings were displaying on the service as size 20–22. "Should someone sized 20-22 purchase these they're going to be very disappointed," she explained. Necessary Adjustments A different user, located in England, said she had been left angered due to the update requiring manual adjustment the sizing for "all her products". "Personally, this is quite irritating, since I have chronic health issues and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she stated. Service Background The platform boasts over 100 million shoppers, comprising 18 million UK members. It has proved a popular alternative compared to resale services such as eBay and Depop. This represents another occasion when a surprising modification to the app has proved unpopular: previously, Vinted reversed a change concerning shipment methods following member complaints.
